LEGO has officially revealed Bookshop: Book Nook (11379), the latest adult-focused model built around the book-nook format. Instead of recreating a licensed setting, the new Icons set creates an original two-storey bookstore that can either sit between real books or open out into a small display scene.
On the Polish LEGO Store, the set is listed at 559.99 zł with shipping from October 1, 2026. The same official product page confirms 1,690 pieces and describes the model as a bookshelf decoration for adults.
A bookstore designed for two display modes
The defining idea is simple: the build can remain closed and slide between books, or open to reveal a more traditional diorama. LEGO describes a detailed two-storey interior with balconies, a spiral staircase, reading corners and a dedicated writer’s workspace.
When opened, the model measures about 20 cm high, 40 cm wide and 7 cm deep. That makes it relatively narrow from front to back, while still needing a fairly wide section of shelf when displayed open.
Literary details are the point
LEGO has packed the bookstore with small references to reading and writing rather than relying on a licensed franchise. The official description calls out a golden cup, magnifying glass, a black cat statue, quiet reading areas and other small details throughout the store.
The set also includes two minifigures, an author and a reader, giving the display a simple narrative instead of making it purely architectural.
1,690 pieces makes it the standout Book Nook for now
With 1,690 pieces, 11379 is larger by piece count than the earlier LEGO Book Nook releases tracked by Brickset, including 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook at 1,359 pieces and 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook at 1,201 pieces.
That does not make it the largest Book Nook by every physical measure. The opened model is around 20 × 40 × 7 cm, so the headline number is really its parts count rather than a claim about total display area.
The October release is already locked in
LEGO’s official stores are already taking pre-orders in multiple European markets. The Polish store lists 559.99 zł and dispatch from October 1, while the French store lists the set at €129.99 with the same October 1 shipping date.
The international listing also confirms the same core concept: this is meant to work either as a bookend-style insert between novels or as an opened display for a shelf or desk.
A small format with a very specific audience
11379 is interesting because it targets two groups at once. It is a conventional LEGO build with a substantial 1,690-piece count, but its final purpose is closer to interior decoration: a narrow architectural scene designed to live on a bookshelf.
That gives the new set a different selling point from a typical LEGO Icons building. The question is not only whether you enjoy building a bookstore, but whether you have the right shelf and whether you prefer the compact closed look or the more detailed open display.
The Book Nook format is growing
With 11379, LEGO is continuing a format that has already included licensed and original settings. The new bookstore also shows that the concept can work without relying on a movie or television property: the theme itself is enough to create a recognizable display language built around books, small rooms and hidden details.
For collectors who skipped the previous Book Nook sets, this may also be an easy entry point because the model is self-contained and does not require earlier sets to make sense. For existing fans of the format, the 1,690-piece count makes 11379 one of the most substantial entries yet.
Bookshop: Book Nook arrives October 1
LEGO Icons 11379 Bookshop: Book Nook is scheduled to ship from October 1, 2026. The set contains 1,690 pieces, two minifigures and a bookstore that can be displayed open or closed. LEGO is already taking pre-orders, with regional pricing varying by market.
This is an official product reveal, not a leaked listing, so the key specifications and release timing are confirmed by LEGO.
