LEGO Confirms Patrick and Gingy Head Cracking Issue — Free Replacements Are Coming
LEGO has officially confirmed a quality issue affecting some Patrick and Gingy minifigure heads. The company says its quality team has identified the cause, corrected parts are being produced, and customers with damaged pieces will be able to receive replacements free of charge through LEGO Customer Service.
This is the clearest update so far. Earlier reports were based on collector photos, customer-service responses, and individual cases. LEGO is now treating the matter as a confirmed quality problem rather than an isolated batch of anecdotal reports.
Free replacement parts are planned
According to statements shared with specialist LEGO media, owners of affected parts will be able to request corrected replacements through LEGO Customer Service at no cost.
There is still no confirmed date for when the revised heads will become broadly available in the replacement-parts system. The corrected elements are currently in production, so collectors may need to wait before the new parts can actually be ordered.
What should owners do now?
If your Patrick or Gingy head shows a visible crack or other clear material damage, it is sensible to keep photos of the part and use LEGO’s official damaged-parts support channel once the corrected versions are available.
There is no indication that every copy is affected, and LEGO has not published figures showing how widespread the issue is. For that reason, this should not be treated as a blanket recall of every Patrick or Gingy minifigure.
The key change: LEGO has confirmed the defect
The important new information is straightforward: LEGO has identified the cause, is producing revised parts, and intends to replace damaged examples for affected customers.
