LEGO has officially revealed LEGO Ideas 21371 Wallace & Gromit, bringing Aardman’s stop-motion duo to an official LEGO set for the first time. The 1,038-piece model is aimed at adult builders and recreates Wallace and Gromit riding their motorcycle and sidecar, with visual references to A Close Shave.
A brick-built take on Wallace and Gromit
Rather than using standard minifigures, the set builds both characters at a larger scale, allowing the designers to capture more of their familiar proportions and facial features. Wallace rides the motorcycle while Gromit sits in the sidecar, and both characters can be posed.
The vehicle includes working rolling wheels, while smaller details reference the pair’s on-screen world. Accessories include crackers, a ball of wool and a diamond hidden inside the motorcycle seat compartment.
Release date and international pricing
Set 21371 Wallace & Gromit contains 1,038 pieces and carries an 18+ age recommendation. The finished model measures over 23 cm high, 23 cm long and 18 cm wide.
It is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026. Confirmed pricing is €99.99 in Europe, £89.99 in the UK and $99.99 in the US.
From a LEGO Ideas challenge to an official set
The project originated through the LEGO Ideas ’90s Throwback – The Next Chapter challenge, where the Wallace & Gromit concept was selected as the winner. LEGO designers then developed the fan concept into the final retail set.
The broader partnership was not a surprise: LEGO and Aardman announced their collaboration in August 2025 and confirmed that Wallace & Gromit would eventually become a LEGO Ideas set. The August 31, 2026 reveal provides the first full look at the final model, piece count, pricing and release date.
The eyes required a different printing approach
One of the more unusual design stories involves the characters’ eyes. According to comments from the LEGO design team reported by Brick Fanatics, the designers wanted to use small domed 1×1 elements because their rounded shape better matched the look of Aardman’s clay characters than flat tiles would.
The difficulty was that the element had not originally been designed for this kind of printed facial detail. The team therefore developed a way to apply printing to the curved surface, helping preserve the distinctive raised-eye look associated with both Wallace and Gromit.
A notable first for the license
For fans of Aardman, the significance of 21371 goes beyond another licensed display model. This is the first official LEGO set built around Wallace and Gromit themselves, and LEGO’s decision to use larger brick-built characters gives the set a visual identity that differs from many minifigure-led licensed releases.
LEGO Ideas 21371 Wallace & Gromit launches on October 1, 2026 through LEGO’s official retail channels.
