The upcoming HBO Original Harry Potter series is getting its own LEGO collection. The announcement was made during the 2026 Back to Hogwarts Showcase, where the official Harry Potter site confirmed that LEGO sets inspired by the new adaptation are coming.
For now, the reveal is deliberately small. No complete sets have been unveiled, and there are no confirmed product numbers, prices, piece counts or release dates. What we do have is the first look at how the new television cast is beginning to translate into minifigure form.
A separate LEGO collection for the HBO adaptation
This matters because the modern LEGO Harry Potter theme has primarily drawn from the Warner Bros. film series, revisiting familiar versions of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, vehicles and characters from the movies. The HBO production introduces a new cast and a fresh visual interpretation of the books, and LEGO is now confirmed to be building a product range around that version of the Wizarding World as well.
The official Back to Hogwarts recap describes it as a LEGO collection for the HBO Original series and says only a small tease has been shown so far. That wording confirms the direction of the line without telling us how broad it will be or whether it will launch as a small wave or a major ongoing sub-theme.
Harry, Ron and Hermione appear in the teaser
Brickset reports that the teaser includes new minifigures of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, based respectively on Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton.
That gives us the clearest indication yet that these sets will not simply reuse the established movie-era character designs. The television adaptation is getting its own versions of the central trio, which should make the new products visually distinct from many current LEGO Harry Potter releases.
It is important not to read more into the footage than it confirms. Seeing these three minifigures does not yet tell us which sets they will appear in, how many versions of each character LEGO may produce, or which locations from the first season will be represented.
When could the first sets arrive?
LEGO has not announced an official release date for the collection. Brickset suggests the first sets could arrive in January, which would make early 2027 a plausible window, but that remains an informed expectation rather than a confirmed launch schedule.
The HBO series itself is now officially scheduled to debut at Christmas 2026. HarryPotter.com’s Back to Hogwarts coverage and the newly released teaser both state that the first season, titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is coming this Christmas.
That timing would make a January LEGO launch commercially logical, but until LEGO publishes product listings or a formal announcement, it should not be treated as confirmed.
What happens to the existing LEGO Harry Potter range?
Nothing in the announcement says the long-running movie-inspired LEGO Harry Potter range is ending. In fact, LEGO has continued releasing substantial film-based sets throughout 2026, including new Hogwarts and character-focused models.
The more interesting possibility is that LEGO may support two visual eras of Harry Potter at the same time: the familiar movie designs and a new stream of products based on HBO’s adaptation. Whether that becomes a long-term structure will depend on the scale and longevity of the new collection.
What we know so far
At this stage, the confirmed information is deliberately limited. The HBO series is getting its own LEGO collection, and a teaser has shown new interpretations of Harry, Ron and Hermione. Everything beyond that — set count, prices, piece totals, individual locations and exact release dates — is still to be announced.
That makes the next LEGO reveal particularly significant. Once the first full sets are shown, we will be able to see how closely the designers are following the production design of the HBO series and how different the new range will look alongside the existing Harry Potter theme.
